Are the configuration scripts shown in Table 63 the only valid ones or is it possible to configure the ADV7391 with custom scrpts?
Shopuld have added Table 63 of the data sheet.
Table 63 indexes into tables 64 - 97 and should cover most formats. Of course you can create custom scripts as long as you stay within the limits of the part. The listed formats have been tested and verified. What formats are you trying to do and/or is not in Table 63?
Thanks for the rapid response - I was just checking that we are OK in the setup we are using which is:
The design basically is OK but I have (as yet) an unexplained artefact on the output video. There is a vertically moving stripe across the picture. This stripe is not a solid colour but a brighter version of the underlying picture. I am sure that the ADV7391 is behaving itself, but I am just checking the obvious.
If you are getting good images except for a moving vertical line in the image then I'd say it was something else in your set up causing the problem. It sounds like the luminance channel is increasing slightly during this brighter region. The problem could get injected anywhere in the entire system.
1) Look for noise components in the power rails at horizontal refresh rate.
2) Try changing the frequency of any switching power supply a bit.
3) Touch various components on the the board with your finger. The capacitance of your finger can move timings just a bit and if the moved timing effected the image at least you pointed to the problem circuit (literally)
4) can you change the vertical sync from 60 to 50? and does the bar still exist
I had been doing what you suggested this morning and I do have a noise issue on power supplies which I am investigating at the moment.
Problem solved - is a power supply issue but rather obtuse.
Glad to hear you got the problem resolved.
