We are looking for a buffer that can operate at 2.97Gbps speed.
Can 8195 run at this speed or is there an alternative equivalent IC
I'm forwarding this to the right person.
AD8195 was released as a 2.25Gbps HDMI buffer. It's asynchronous serial differential signal path will support the higher rates with slightly degraded performance. We included additional information in the datasheet to illustrate 2.97Gbps operation. The degraded performance is primarily observable in reduced cable equalization reach however, this can also impact margin beyond the HDMI compliance test specification. This is explained in more detail in application note AN-1166. For internal HDMI signals that are not subject to the full CTS compliance test suite the AD8195 can support the 2.97Gbps. For external HDMI connections that are subject to the HDMI CTS, a fully 2.97G compliant buffer would be required. As of this writing Analog Devices does not offer 2.97G compliant HDMI buffer.
