Digital isolators as a MIDI interface

Hi, I hope this question is not Off-Topic (and not too dumb !)

I built a number of MIDI devices, all using traditional analogue opto like the 6N138 and similar.

I found just now these digital isolators and I'm intrigued by the idea of use them in alternative (for speed and space).

Does anyone tested them in this field?

The (defacto) standard Midi input sees a 220 ohm resistor in series with the internal opto's Led.

What if I replace the Led with a 270 ohm resistor (to close the current loop) and connect an ADUM1200 input across this resistor, could it work ?

Thanks
