Does ADI consider the eval board design proprietary?
It is perfectly acceptable to copy our eval board schematics when designing a system around our DDS chips, in fact we encourage it.
Any legal implication either way (if and when things didn't go right). i.e.. due to unforseable circumstances from the end designer usage. e.g. especailly from the end user's down-time/lost of revenue or even legal procedings.
ADI does not warrant it's schematic and will not accept legal responsibility for any problems arising from others efforts to utilize them. They are offered/provided free of charge and it is the responsibility of those receiving them to ensure that the design provided is sufficient for the recipients end needs.
Thanks it's good to know and user should comply/adhere to this. But what about schematics reviews and advise. if one does copy the eval-board design and incorporate into, say e.g. our system. Can we send you our incorporated schematics for advise/recommendation or even for schematic review e.g. for signing-off. known that you are not held (legally) repossible.
We do regularly support requests for customer schematic reviews, those should be arranged through your local sales contact.
