Thanks for the info.
We are unable to connect to any of the EZ-Boards with USB-ICE emulator.
I am using the correct session for connecting with your USB-ICE emulator, followed the steps as you said.
I tried ICE Test utility, it failed at Opening Emulator Interface .

Both the ICE Test results and Target Connection error would suggest that the driver for your USB-ICE emulator is not correctly installed. For USB emulators the Device ID of the ICE Test should be set to 0 by default. If it is set to something else, as is the case with you, it indicates a problem with the emulator driver.
You can check the driver is installed properly by opening your computer’s ‘Device Manager'. You should find your emulator listed under 'ADI Development tools'. If listed, double-click on your emulator to show the driver properties and ensure there are no issues listed. If there are please take a note of them along with the driver version number installed and send these details to me.
If your emulator is not listed or you are having problems with the drivers, you should try reinstalling the drivers. Emulator drivers may be found in the “Emu_Drivers” directory in the top directory of the VisualDSP++ installation. By default this is located at the following paths:
VisualDSP++ 5.0: <install_dir>\Setup\Emu_Drivers
When you start the ICE Test which LEDs on the emulator light? If the emulator has an 'Enable/Power' LED this should be green when power is applied and amber when connected to a session or the ICE Test is being used. On the other hand if the emulator has an 'Enable' only LED, this should be amber when connected to a session or when the ICE Test is being used. At all other times this LED should be off.
If you are still having problems with your USB-ICE then we feel that this would be best handled through private support. Please contact us using the support form below, and include a link to this thread:
Are you using USB ICE or trying to connect with USB Debug Agent? Which version of VDSP++ tools update you are using?
I am working with the USB EZ-EXTENDER on SHARC 21489. So I need drivers for this device.
And also due to some resason none of our USB ICE are not working to connect to board. I am using VDSP++5.0 with update 7 and VisualDSP++5.0_ADSP-21479_21489_EZ-Boards.vdu for 21489 support. Can you plaese give me solution to this also.
Currently i am using the HPUSB-ICE to connect to board.

You say that none of your USB-ICE emulators are working with your ADSP-21489 EZ-BOARD but you are able to connect to it using your HPUSB-ICE emulator. Firstly, if you have any other EZ-KITs or EZ-Boards can you tell me if your USB-ICE emulator connects to any of them?
If so then can I ask you to ensure that you are using the correct session for connecting with your USB-ICE emulator? Please follow these steps to confirm you are using the correct session:
Start VisualDSP++ while pressing and holding the CTRL key on your keyboard.
After a few seconds the 'Session List' window will appear.
Click the 'New Session' button to open the 'Session Wizard'.
Select 'ADSP-21489' as your Processor type and click Next.
Ensure that 'Emulator' is selected on the Connection Type page and click Next.
On the last page, 'Select Platform', select 'ADSP-21489 via USB-ICE' as your Platform.
Click the Finish button.
Note: When recreating an existing session the session name will be appended with a number, as you can see in the 'Select Platform' screen. Remove this number before clicking Finish. You will be prompted to replace your existing session, select Yes.
After clicking the Finish button you will be taken back to the 'Session List' window and your new session should be available and highlighted.
Click Activate to connect to this session and your hardware.
If you are still having problems connecting to your board with the USB-ICE please take a note of any error messages you encounter and provide me with a note of them.
Can you also tell me if the ICE Test utility runs successfully or if it fails at any point? If the Test fails, please provide a screenshot showing the ICE Test results. The ICE Test is available by selecting the 'Test' button within the 'VisualDSP++ Configurator'. The Configurator itself is available from the VisualDSP++ Program Group in your computers START menu.
If you find that the ICE Test passes but you are still unable to connect to your target please have a look at the following FAQ: 'Why does the ICE Test pass but IDDE cannot connect to target?'
Lastly, we plan on extending the software support for the BF/SH USB EZ-Extender board to the ADSP-21489 EZ-Board in the next VisualDSP++ update. At the moment support is provided for the ADSP-21469, ADSP-BF518F and ADSP-BF526 EZ-Boards.
