Since this question is related to SigmaStudio for Sharc, I have moved it to the appropriate forum community.
Please let us know the operating system version.
Whether the PC on which the installation was performed is connected to internet?
Win7 64, work machine. Used 64 bit install
Was connected to the internet, but downloaded the patch and ran it locally. Behind adi firewall
Sorry for a late response. Could you successfully install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and SigmaStudio for SHARC?
SigmaStudio for SHARC 2.0.0 installer has Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable packaged inside and is expected to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable if not already found on the machine. If you still face the issue, please download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistrubutable from this link. Re-install SigmaStudio for SHARC after this.
Please let me know if you need additional help.
I just blew through the error dialog, but haven't yet tried it. I also install both ss4s tools and there was some issue there too but I don't recall just now what it was.
I was chatting with a colleague, greg geerling, who told me he ran it down and the install was built improperly. the install wants an old lib from microsoft foundation class and doesn't recognize a newer one is already there.
my need was in anticipation of a training that has been postponed.
it would be good to get some validation from you guys on the risk if the error is not heeded and some eta on remedy, so we can explain it to customers.
Unfortunately this issue could not be reproduced. We are deferring further investigation until this issue is reproducible.
We typically deal with VS redistributables installation problems on a case-by-case basis. There have not been many consistencies in failures of those Microsoft installers. This issue may be caused by trying to install an older version of VS 2010 redistributables over a newer one. In the past, these installers would exit gracefully, but we've seen a couple of cases in the past where they started throwing out errors in such scenarios. They typically generate .html log in user's %TEMP% folder and the error message can be found in the log file. If a newer version of redistributables is already installed, the product should function without any issues. In your case, you definitely have some version of these redistributables installed on your system.
I need to do a bit more research before I can determine how to best solve this problem in our installers.
