i am using visual dsp++ 5.0 and update10... to use simulator, i got the problem at creating a session. following attachment shows the error..
What Session were you trying to create? (e.g. BF533 - "ADSP-BF5xx Single Processor Simulator")
What operating system are you using? e.g. Windows 7 x64
If you have permissions to do so, can you locate the "Idde.exe" in the System folder of the VisualDSP++ installation, right-click, and select "Run as Administrator". Is the behaviour the same?
i am creating session ADSP21479"ADSP 214xx-simulator"
i got the same problem, even i used "idde.exe"
I notice you have posted another thread, that seems to suggest you were able to create a session for the 21479 - is that the case?
Can you provide details of the steps you are following when you encounter the problem. For example, are you attempting to connect to a session because the IDDE is prompting you to so that it can load a DXE, or are you simply creating a session via 'Session: New Session'?
after completion of build file... i am trying to create the session to see the simulation results...
for that i am following these steps
session-> new session-> select processor(sharc- ADSP 21479)->select connector type(simulator)->select platform(ADSP214xx simulator)-> finish... later IDE shows warning (problem.bmp )...
Have you ever been able to start a session in VisualDSP++, or have you recently installed the tools and are unable to access any sessions?
Do you have full administrator access on your machine - including full read/write access to the registry? If not, can you please try logging in as a user account that does have full access and see if the behaviour is the same?
Can you also try performing a Touch of the installation. This must be done using an account with full admin rights. It can be done via 'Start: Program Files: Analog Devices: VisualDSP++ 5.0: Maintain this installation: Touch this installation'.
If that does not work, can you try re-installing the VisualDSP++ tools to a clean directory.
