Hi to all,
I have a simply question about GoAhead Webserver provided with VDSP.
To use it on BF537, is mandatory to have ucLinux or VDK with lwIP is enough?
Thanks a lot
the GoAhead Webserver example provide in VisualDSP++ (...\Blackfin\Examples\ADSP-BF537 EZ-Kit Lite\LAN\HTTP_Server\), like all of the LwIP examples we provide, is built upon VDK.
This is because our port of the LwIP stack is dependent on VDK, and cannot be used without the underlying VDK framework. I believe the Blackfin uClinux uses a different TCP/IP stack, rather than a port of LwIP.
Thank you very much fo your answer
Has Webserver example been removed from VDSP++ Update 9?
Where can I find it, now?
Or where can I find an alternative webserver for Blackfin?
Thanks in advance
GoAhead doesn't seem to be in recent VisualDSP++ distributions, but it is easy to create your own simple webserver out of the telnet example; HTTP is like a telnet session on port 80 with standardised request and response formats.
I don't know if it's easy or difficult to create a new webserver, but I think that using the one available in previous VDSP++ distribution it's the easiest way at all
The GoAhead web server is not available in any VisualDSP++ distribution. You may be aware that GoAhead was acquired by Oracle; if you wish to port the GoAhead webserver, I would recommend contacting them to see if this product is still open source.
I don't know if new releases of GoAhead webserver are still open source or not. I don't know if there are new releases of this product...
But I know that on previous Updates of VDSP++ there was a working webserver example, based on open source files, that can't be declared as closed-source after an acquisition or something like that. They were open-source, and they'll be open source.
So, could you restore that example undel VDSP++ Example folder, please?
Or could you supply an alternative webserver built over VDK and lwIP, please?
All I can say is that licensing issues restrict us from distributing that example, so it has been removed from the VisualDSP++ tools. It will not be re-instated, and we cannot provide you with a copy.
We do not have an alternative example available. I am sorry we cannot be of more assistance on this occasion.
