Has anyone done such a driver? customer needs 32bit writes to communicate with a mixer.
the Blackfin SPI controller can only do 8bit or 16bit transfers. if you want to connect to a 32bit SPI device, you'll have to emulate a SPI bus using either GPIOs or the SPORT controller.
You can also communicate with a device expecting 32-bit transfers by asserting the slave select, perform two 16-bit transfers, and deasserting the slave select -- essentially framing 32 SPI clocks with the slave select. This can be done with the current ADI device driver.
great! I was hoping we could decouple the spi chip select from the bit handling. thanks, Tim
