I need to replace an old chip set (Philips SAA7115 decoder and SAA7103 encoder) since these parts are no longer available, but we need to make a product that performs their function for another 5 years or so! The overall function required is VERY simple: S-video in (NTSC or PAL), and analog RGB and Sync out. No scaling, no digital inputs or outputs, no color space or scan conversion. (Decades ago this was an all-analog single chip solution.) My initial look through the AD site suggests that the ADV7184 or '7188 decoder and ADV7391 encoder would be good choices, but are there better/easier ones? This needs to be kept simple as possible because of cost (of course) and board-space issues.
