I need to interface the EVAL-ADE7953EBZ to an electric machine with italian specification:

single phase

230 Vac

50 Hz

maximum 1 kW

I need to measure both voltage and current; for the current, on channel A, I need to use shunt resistor.

Can someone help me to configure jumpers and also to choose the right shunt resister for my application?

For the input configuration setting jumper settings,

Voltage channel: Enable a 1000:1 attenuation by opening JP8A and closing JP8B, which is the default setting anyways.

Current channel: Just enabling one set of anti-alias filter would be sufficient, if you are using shunts. JP3A,3B,4A and 4B open while JP5A,5B,6A and 6B closed will be the default setting and you can use the same setting.

Shunt resistor: For maximum power of 1kW, the maximum rms current would be 4.35A assuming 230Vrms being the maximum voltage signal. If the maximum current must equal to the full scale of the chip, then find the value of shunt resistor by Ohm's law: R= Full scale of the chip(v) / maximum current passing through resistor( I) = 0.5V/ 4.35A= 115mohm. If you would like to leave a small headroom for current exceeding the maximum level expected due to spikes or spurious transients on the line, equate maximum rms value to half the full scale and hence the shunt value would be half of the value calculated as above.
