ADSP-BF51x with ADSP-BF518F EZ-Board SPI Slave Boot

I have a Raspberry Pi as a master trying to load a dxe command to a ADSP-BF51x blackfin with a ADSP-BF518F EZ-Board on Boot. I'm a beginner to this so I feel like I'm over my head. I currently have a program that takes in a video feed from the Blackfin after it is on. The wiring for SPI is all setup for that. Now I want to be able to load any program I want on boot prior to this. I am not really sure what the steps are to achieve this. Luckily, the raspberry pi has the wiringPi library to make this easier https://projects.drogon.net/raspberry-pi/wiringpi/functions/ but I am still quite lost.

It seems like at a high level,  I still have to:

  1. Change the blackfin to Mode 100, or a 4 from the switch and I am done on that side.
  2. Convert the Dxe into Individual bytes
  3. Buy a pull-down resistor and put it on the HWAIT pin
  4. When HWAIT is high, start sending the program at the clock rate?

Thanks for your time.
