I am using XP 32 bit and have administrator privileges but I click setup and nothing happens. downloaded software instead of using CD and same thing. I see 32 and 64 bit files in the install folder.
I moved this question about the AD7780 evaluation software to the Precision ADCs Community. Someone here should be able to assist you.

As part of the install a folder called either x32 (for 32-bit) or x64 (for 64-bit) is created in the temp directory on the PC. If this folder cannot be created then the installer will not run.
Can you try create this folder and then see does it work ?
You can open the Temp folder by clicking on Start -> Run... and typing %temp%.
the directory exists.
I tried to install the eval for the ad7747. the one i downloaded did
the same thing but the one on the disk worked.
maybe same problem?
So even creating this directory did not solve the issue then ?
Another option is to rename the x32.cab file to x32.zip, unzip and run the contained installer.
the temp directory already existed.
unzipping the cab file worked.
