What are the recommended settings to minimize power consumption, and heat generation, in the ADV7623 when RXC and RXD are not being used?
Suggested changes are:
0x00 [5:4] = 00B Disables C and D in BG mode
0x01 [6:5] = 11B Disables the termination on Ports C and D
0x0D [5:4] = 00B Reduced power for BG modes, probably not needed.
Leave registers oxC3 and 0xC4 at their default values of 00h to power down the equalizers.
Thank you for the response Dave.
Registers 0x00 and 0x01 make sense, but I don't understand the settings on registers 0x0D, 0xC3 and 0xC4. Which table do these registers map to?
These registers are all in the RX HDMI Map, sorry.
The 0x0D bits are undocumented-- just internal configuration and they are 0 by default so nothing to worry about there.
0xC3/0xC4 are also undocumented and the values for them are usually given as required writes in scripts. Instead just leave those at 0x00 which is default.
Can 0x0D, 0xC3 and 0xC4 be written to at any time to shut down the equalizers, i.e. during runtime, or do they have to be written to during initialization or during some other window of time?
They can be written at any time.
