I have a customer that is considering the AD9957 DUC/DAC device on a new design as they have had luck designing this part in previously. The AD9957 is spec'ed with 3.3V digital I/O and a 1.8V core and they want to know if it's possible to run the digital I/O with a 1.8V supply ?
They ask because the part will interface with a Virtex-7 that does not have any high voltage (> 1.8V) I/O and they were hoping there might be a way to avoid the level translators that are needed.
The other option would be if there was a similar device to the AD9957 with single 1.8V I/O, although they would like to stay with the AD9957 as it's already working on a previous design.
Based on the Power Supply Partitioning in the datasheet, the following AD9957 rails require 3.3v:
• DVDD_I/O (Pin 11, Pin 15, Pin 21, Pin 28, Pin 45, Pin 56, Pin 66)
• AVDD (Pin 74 to Pin 77 and Pin 83)
I also could not find a single supply 1.8V DDS/DUC device that also supports the same frequency as the AD9957.
