Are there any layout guidelines and schematics available for the AD9250-FMC-EBZ? I didn't see any on the wiki site.
There aren't any "layout guidelines" specific to that card -- from the AD9250 perspective - the gold performance standard is the eval board (AD9250-250EBZ) - and that's what you should look at.
The ADI AD9250 eval board uses the recommended input structure described on the datasheet - a differential double balun (as shown on "Figure 37. Differential Double Balun Input Configuration"), and on the AD-FMCJESDADC1-EBZ card (the part number changed, sorry for any confusion), we didn't have space for that - so we used the what is shown in Figure 36. Differential Transformer-Coupled Configuration. This configuration does not have the same performance as the differential double balun configuration (like the datasheet indicates), and we are just tweaking things to ensure it's as good as it can be, before we release the specific design.
The AD9250-250EBZ eval board hits all the datasheet specs quite easily. The AD-FMCJESDADC1-EBZ was done to (as the name suggest) show off the JESD204B parts of the design, and to help FPGA developers understand how to sync two JESD204B converters together to ensure synchronous sampling. We believe that the analog performance meets datasheet specs (or comes very, very close, we are in process of measuring multiple boards to make sure that things are OK) within the first Nyquist zone (like I said above, we are still testing/tweaking), but due to the connectors (MMCX right angle vs SMA straight through), the input configuration (Double Balun vs Differential Transformer), the compressed layout (the FMC card input section swaps top to bottom 4 times vs the eval board is all on the top layer), performance at frequencies beyond the second Nyquist zone are slightly degraded compared to the AD9250-250EBZ eval board.
