We are using the ADV7441A to capture HDMI video without HDCP encryption. We would like to flag an error when a customer plugs in an HDCP protected signal. I see in the manual that a Register shows whether it is encrypted but I am not sure if this is always correct or if it only shows on the chips which contain the HDCP encryption keys.

HDCP Content Encrypted Flag,

HDMI Map, Address 0x05, [6]

0 Content is not encrypted

1 Content is encrypted

Can you clarify if this register is correct or if there is a better way to determine if someone tries to plug in content protected input into the non-keyed version of the 7441?
