I have take a look at the schematic and found that the DAC outputs are directly feed to jumper. Does this mean that I must supply a filter for the output if I want to output baseband signal directly? Thanks and best Regards.
You mean like a reconstruction filter? What do you mean by "output baseband signal directly"? - to what?
In our FMcomms1 board we are trying to have two options to look at the DAC output.
The first is using the differential DAC output through a transformer to an SMA (using that jumper you discribe)
The second is through the modulator and the gain block.
If you do not want this option on your board, you won't have to use the jumper and you can complete your chain
through the modulator and gain block.
I hope this answers your question, if not please share with us more details on what you are trying to accomplish.
Thanks for your help
I want to use the fmcomms1 as an arbitrary waveform generator. Based on Rejeesh's reply , I think I need to build my reconstruction filter.
