i am using AD835 for making BPSK modulator. I am using schematic amplitude modulator, whether it can produce BPSK signals? My input signal is digital. because I tried it, did not produce a BPSK signal. is there any suggestions?
I'm afraid you can't use the amplitude modulator circuit to produce Binary Phase Shift Keying signal. In amplitude modulation, the carrier's amplitude is being modulated. This means that the amplitude of the carrier varies while its phase and frequency are constant. In BPSK, the phase of the carrier is digitally modulated, while the amplitude and frequency are constant. If you want to implement angle modulation like BPSK, I think the Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) community has some products that might help you for your application.
I hope this helps!
Tq Mr. Neil.
I've read that there was someone who has made a BPSK modulator using this AD835. I attach this paper. how about this?
please help me.
I am a little confused on your problem. Are you using the AD835 Amplitude Modulator circuit as described on Figure 23 of AD835 datasheet? If you are using that to generate BPSK signals, then that circuit won't give you your desired output signals.
On the paper you attached, AD835 is used in a BPSK circuit as a multiplier. However, using the AD835 alone won't give you BPSK. As shown in Figure 2 of the paper, in order to implement BPSK, you will need other blocks such as the Shaping and Level Translator, which are not done by the AD835.
I have talked to DDS engineers and that they confirmed that they have parts that are capable of doing BPSK. If your concern is to produce BPSK signals regardless of what parts to use, I suggest you give it a try on the DDS community.
thank you for you suggestion Mr. Neil.
it's very helpful.
I have read your post on the DDS community and noticed that it was moved back to the Amplifiers Community since you are asking about the AD835 again. Does this mean that you want a BPSK circuit with the AD835 and not a BPSK which could be a single chip solution? I would also appreciate if you could share the actual schematic of your BPSK that you said you have already built. I am not sure which circuit you are referring to when you said your circuit did not work.
i have synchronized carrier with NRZ input. But, why the phase not shift from 0 to 180? i have added block Shaping, NRZ synchronize, and level translator.
