I'm using the EVAL-ADV7842-7511P board to get to grips with the 7842 that we're planning to build into a product. We do not require HDCP support, so will be using the professional version.
What I'm seeing is that if I use an HDMI generator with HDCP output turned on, then I lose all output from the eval board. The status register (seem to suggest that the 7842 is still free running, but the TV connected to the output of the eval board just displays 'No Signal'.
If I enable the repeater software on the eval board, when I turn on HDCP at the input it appears to fail to even read the registers.
Is this a quirk of the eval board, or does this indicate the real behaviour of the chip? We will be taking the output of the 7842 directly into the video bus of another processor (not an ADV part), and would like to get a 'blue screen' or similar if an HDCP connected input is connected.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
