Safeload with DC Input Entry controlling 2nd Order filter /lookup

This question is about the opportunity to use safeload on an 1701 when updating a DC Input entry (that is a block controlling the index of the selected filter inside a 2nd Order filter /lookup).

I'm actually using safeload, but I get strong clicks when switching filters. If I understand well when I write the new value in the DC Input Entry

this will change which of the filter sets (already calculated and stored in the parameter RAM) is used, a sort of Index.

Is this true or does it triggers an internal safeload that loads the parameters in the filter? And if this is the situation, is it possible that

the two safeloads actually interfere (first safeload that triggers the second one?

Or, to put it short: is it good to use safeload to change a DC Input Entry or is it better to write directly to the DC Input Entry location?
