ADV3002, internal Register 0x07, Loss of Signal Detect Control, has 4 settings for "LOS Threshold". Does anyone know what the cutoff is for the 4 different settings? or a description of how this setting performs?
The default code (LOS_THR=0) corresponds to the LOS threshold of 35mV as listed in Table 1 of the datasheet.
Higher codes increase the threshold as follows:
The default (LOS_THR=0) threshold of 35mV is the recommended setting
Dave, Thank you.
Do you know if these higher setting (1-3) will also cause a frequency cutoff threshold?
No, the LOS_THR threshold is an amplitude threshold. There is a frequency cutoff as well (LOS_FC), see figure 27 in the ADV3002 datasheet. The LOS_FC cutoff value is fixed at 5MHz. The LOS circuit itself is guaranteed to support clock rates up to an including 225MHz, but is not guaranteed beyond 225MHz. In some applications, ADV3002 can be used above 225MHz. In those scenarios, we recommend disabling the auto-squelch function to avoid false LOS events.
