In ADV7842, do you have a method of HDCP enable/disable Reg setting or DDC address change?
I have seen that HDCP enable/ disable was discussed at EZ previously. http://ez.analog.com/message/55998#55998
Would you disclose this method for us ?At the moment, customer would like to use this device at HDCP disabled.
That method is only applicable in a repeater situation-- and it's really just intentionally adding bugs in software. HDCP encryption is set by the transmitter, not the receiver. You can only fail to authenticate properly (which is what the thread you reference talks about) or not claim HDCP compliance which isn't an option.
There is no *supported* way to disable HDCP in a receiver with keys. Some parts allow you to break an internal address which will make the keys inaccessible but I don't believe this part has that register.
Blocking the DDC lines would break authentication too if your customer could do that.
Thank you for your answer.
