I have an ADIS 16485 IMU. The IMU is stationary in a room with ambient temperature of ~23 deg. However when I read the temperature from the IMU, it is ~42 deg C. Just wondering is this normal?
This seems a little high but it within "reasonable expectation." The Theta-ja is ~22.8 C/W and the power dissipation in the ADIS16485 is ~0.66W. That creates an a typical temperature rise of ~15C inside of the device and the accuracy of the temperature sensors is ~+/-5C. So, a temperature difference of 19C would not be cause for alarm, from my point of view. I hope that helps!
