Hi, I have a general question about DAC's. Say I perform a write of a single code, say mid-scale though it really doesn't matter, and do not perform any more writes. The DAC register should be holding that exact value I wrote, the device should continually output the corresponding analog voltage, and any noise on the output is due to the actual analog circuitry at the output, correct? Or is there always going to be at least 1LSB flipping back and forth, causing analog noise at the output?
I was looking at the AD5660, and in Figure 35 of the datasheet it appears to have about 40uV of noise. For that device 1LSB=5/2^16=76uV, which I feel proves my first point above, but I wanted to confirm.
