I'm looking for suggestions for converting a DVI output from a graphics chip to CVBS format. I can generate a 480p digital signal from my graphics system and would need this converted to NTSC, encoded 480i.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
We have chips that will convert 480i to 480p such as the ADV7842 however converting from 480p to 480i is not easy or low cost. Even thought the pixel rate maybe the same, 480i is interlaced so you will have to store a 480p image frame and convert it the the right 480i output format. It can be done but what are your cost parameters?
To answer your "what cost?", I need to provide this feature. So I need a
solution. But I don't have a hard cost number, lower of course being
We found the ADV8003. Will it do the downscale? And is the DRAM necessary
for that downscale feature. The ADV8003 is rather overkill for my required
functionality, but I have a need!
Yes the ADV8003 will downscale
Yes the ADV8003 will output 480i
Yes the ADV8003 still requires the DDR
At this instance in time the ADV8003 is still under NDA so you have to go through a few more steps to get the full datasheets and reference boards are not readily available for general consumption.
Please contact you local ADI sales rep. for more information on this part.
Any other AD parts that will do this?
We're working on the NDA now. But you have confirmed that the NDA is worth
Unfortunately we don't have any other parts that will do P2I conversion.
