Why can't I download the encoder I want from the web?
If the module you are looking for is not listed online at Blackfin or SHARC modules online pages, it is because we do not offer it at this time. If, on the other hand, it is listed but not available for immediate download, it means that there may be a licensing restriction associated with its distribution. Some IP (Intellectual Property) holders may require that you are licensed by them before ADI can distribute it to an end user. Please fill in the form found when clicking on "Request Evaluation Code", or "Request Production Code", and our team will contact you shortly.
what about codecs not listed there. I've seen some benchmarking results for g.728 in some ADI presentations but no codecs to download.
Where can i ask about availability of this codec?
And about the codecs presented on the pages you showed what are the limitations of using them. I've read licences for g.729ab and it says about limitation of evaluation library but i have a production library in that archive. That means i can use it for production board without limitations?
Anything that is offered will always be listed online at www.analog.com/BlackfinModules, www.analog.com/SHARCModules or at www.analog.com/Software, so if it is not there then it is because it's not available. Although we may have had G.728 released at one point but it would have been included as part of a solution or a reference design which is no longer available. If you are asking for it then please discuss it with your ADI field representatives or your local ADI sales rep.
In regards to the license and any limitations on the use of the G.729AB production library, you should direct your questions to the licensing team by emailing them at firstname.lastname@example.org. I believe that limitations do exists on its use but they would be the team to ask for further clarification on it.
