Can I use the full functionality of the AD9739A FMC card and AD9467 FMC card with the SP601 spartan 6 FPGA evaluation kit or Zedboard Zynq 7000 Development board or do I need to go to more advanced FPGA boards.
On the digital side, the functionality is limited mainly with respect to the interface clock frequency. SP601 requires a lot of tuning on the interface to match the delays (the FMC pin layout is a mix of different regions). On Zed board, we have a reference design for AD9467 but NOT AD9739A. The problem is that the fabric can only run at around 400MHz (435MHz or so). If you are planning to run the dac it at a lower clock, Zed board (of the two boards) is the better option.
What is the max. Clock freq that can be handled with the board is used with Zed Board.
On the zed board, with the reference design as it is and as specified by Xilinx, maximum DAC clock is limited to 1.856GHz. You may be able to run higher than this. No limitations on the ADC.
