ADV7181D applications - S-Video and VGA RBG

We are looking to potentially use the ADV7181 in the following two applications:


1) Standard Definition decode of S-Video (Y/C): According to the datasheet, this can be formatted to 8-bit or 16-bit SDR 4:2:2 formats.  This seems straight forward.


2) RGB decode at VGA resolution: According to the datasheet, this would utilize the Component Processor. The associated output is indicated as 12-bit DDR 4:4:4. We cannot support DDR with the interface on the processor that we intend to use. The datasheet also mentions the ability to do color space conversions: "A color space conversion matrix is placed between the analog front end and the CP section. This enables YCrCb-to-DDR RGB and RGB-to-YCrCb conversions. Many other standards of color space can be implemented using the color space converter." It also states that "RGB that can be color space converted to YCrCb and decimated to a 4:2:2 format for videocentric back-end IC interfacing." How do we achieve a 16-bit 4:2:2 SDR output format from a RGB analog source?


Any assistance that you can provide as it relates to the RBG application and the potential of implementing a 16-bit SDR interface would be greatly appreciated.
