I have an AD7609 18bits, 8 channels, converter. I use the serial communication on one Dout line.
I would like to know if it's possible to read only the results from channel 1 to 5 because I don't care the result on channel 6 to 8.
The serial interface section of the AD7609 states that /CS input can be held low for the entire serial read or it can be pulsed to frame each channel read of 18 SCLK cycles. To frame channels 1-5 would require a total of 90 SCLK cycles. Try bringing /CS high after 90 SCLK cycles. Note that you should give the part a CONVST before bringing /CS low again so that the new conversion data is placed in the output data registers before the falling edge of the BUSY signal.
Let me know if this helps.
I moved this question about the AD7609 to the Precision ADCs Community. Someone here should be able to assist you.
