Lame MP3 Encoder on Sharc?

Hi There, how are you?

I was wondering if could be possible to port, in the firmware level, the Lame MP3 Encoder to SHARC? Lame uses floating point and it's written in C / C++. So it seem that it could be "easily" done, but so far no one did it. Is there any major issue that could prevent this port?

Also, I was wondering if ADSP-21469 could run multiple instances of this encoder, for a multi-track recorder for example?

I'm sorry if this post seems to be too abstract, but I did search the forum and couldn't figure it out.

Blackfin forum has some posts about it, but they're all using Linux and the encoder over it. Still, most people seem to be having problems about the encoding speed.

Any clarification will be really appreciated!

Best regards
