Hi, I need suggestions on how to programme the ADF4351 registers. I intend to use the chip for a prototype design for a 2nd generation PLB for use in the COSPAS SARSAT system
Simplest solution is to use the evaluation board software.
If I use the evaluation software how do I write the hex file to the chip?

If using the Analog Devices hardware then either the Cypress USB or SDP-S connector is required. The evaluation board uses the Cypress device, and is also fitted with the ADP150.

The ADF435x software mentioned above connects to the USB interface of the evaluation board after identifying that it is the correct board. The identification details are unique to the evaluation board so you would need to use your own identification (VID and PID) and modify the software accordingly.

You could consider using the Analog Devices evaluation board for the USB processing and solder wires from the CLK, DATA and LE connectors directly to your evaluation board.
Alternatively, if you have a microcontroller in your system, you can connect the SPI output to the ADF4351 and then program the microcontroller to send the required register values.
