What's the difference between the commands "Write to DAC register" and "Load DAC"? Do I need to execute both of them, so that the output current is changed?

There is both a hardware and a software "load DAC" function. Both perform the same task.
Looking at the hardware /LDAC pin first, if the user performs a "Write to DAC register" and the /LDAC pin is tied permanently low, the DAC register (and the output current) is updated on the rising edge of /SYNC. If the /LDAC pin is held high during the write cycle, the input register is updated, but the DAC register (& output current) update is delayed until the falling edge of /LDAC.
It is a similar scenario for the software /LDAC function. If the user performs a "Write to DAC register" with the /LDAC pin tied high, the output will not be updated until either the /LDAC pin is brought low or the user performs a "Load LDAC" write.
