I was wondering if anyone had any experience using the ADV212 codec at high temperatures? I was hoping to expose the codec to temperatures of 150C.
Does anyone know if there is a thermal shutdown in the device?
There is no thermal shutdown-- it just won't work at that ambient. Operation becomes highly unreliable once you move outside the temperature spec.
I heard that the PLL would be the first think to fail as temperture increases. Have you had any experience / know of anybody using the device this hot?
We have a camera that works at 150C but need to compress the video for transmission.
I honestly don't know what fails first but compression will typically fail and the part will hang LONG before you get to 150C. It's really not an option to run it out of temp spec.
