HPUSB-ICE gremlins again !

Hello

The HPUSB-ICE gremlins have struck again

This is my 2nd SHARC custom design using a different DSP and I am now experiencing the same problems with the ICE that I had with an earlier design using and ADSP-21262 The JTAG is connected according to the single DSP/No Boundary Scan configuration as outlined in EE-68.

Initially it all worked OK so I could confirm the dsp was working. Connected up the ICE to the ADSP-21489 board and it communicated OK. After a few days the gremlins started to resurface again that I had with an earlier ADSP-21262 design

The ICE passes the loop through test OK even at 50MHz.

Decided to do a bit of probing on the #EMU line and this is what I get. Top trace is the JTAG #EMU line whilst the bottom trace is the TCK line. I tried the 100 ohm pull down resistor trick on the EMU line and it did not make any difference.

The irony in all of this is the ICE successfully connects up to my BF533 EZ-LITE board !!

Any ideas ?

David
