I saw the ADuCRF presentation and was a bit disappointed about the RF part.
Is there or will there be an ADuC(RF) with onboard 802.11 ? Or is there at least a reference design doing that ?
802.11 is a WLAN radio, the radio on the ADuCRF101 is a different type, a < 1 GHz ISM band radio.
I am not aware of any immediate plans of a MCU paired with an on-board 802.11 radio.
Depending what you plan to do - maybe only you want 2.4GHz, than a possible solution may be another of our low power Cortex M3 products combined with a ADF7241 802.15.4 2.4GHz Transceiver.
Yeah, the plan are low power sensors communicating directly to the 802.11b WLAN. No big stack, just DHCP and UDP. Reference design would be nice, ADuCRF with 2.4GHz would be the best.
Are there other ADuCRF family members planned ? Is there a roadmap ?
The next members of the family have not been announced yet, I can’t confirm yet if and when a 2.4 GHz ADuCRF radio will appear from Analog Devices.
