I'm currently using the H264 encoder software module running on a BF561. I'm thinking of migrating to the BF60x series, but is it possible to use the existing available software modules for BF5xx on the BF60x ?
We have just released the H.264 BP/MP Encoder on BF-609. The release id is Rel 4.0.0. It will be available in www.analog.com/BlackfinModules after few days. Please watch the page for the update to be able to download online. If you need to get it before it comes on the web page, please fill the Software Request Form and ask for Rel 4.0.0 or later version of H.264 BP/MP Encoder.
I have moved your question from the BF60x Processors community to the Software Modules and SDKs community, as it relates specifically to the Software Modules.
The libraries provided with the software modules will not work under CrossCore Embedded Studio, as the ELF format used differs from that used in VisualDSP++. While the elf2elf utility would be able to convert the VisualDSP++ library to a CCES-compatible one, there are further incompatibilities such that even the converted library would not work.
We do not currently offer a CCES library for the H.264 Encoder, nor a BF609 Software Module for this product.
I should advise that information regarding future releases of Software Modules is not available through the EngineerZone, and should you have any questions about future Software Module availability we ask that you please contact your local ADI distributor, Sales representative or FAE for further information.
New and updated Software Modules will be posted online as they are available, at: http://www.analog.com/software
