ADV7842 Audio dropouts

I am getting a half second long audio dropout about every 30 seconds with some sources but not others. For example, I am using a Panasonic Blu-ray player  and I get the audio dropout. This occurs with any audio format. When I use a Motorola cable box as the source I get no dropouts. However, an Oppo Blu-ray player has no dropouts but a Cablevision set top box does dropout.

I have the sources set to PCM output and I am running the I2S from the ADV7842 directly to a DAC so it is not a DSP problem.

I have interrupts enabled for the audio mute signal as well as FIFO under and overflow, PLL lock, and every other audio related parameter but I get no interrupts when the dropouts occur. It sounds like a FIFO underflow problem but, as I said, there is no indication from the ADV7842 that anything has happened.
