I would like to use the asynchronous memory interface (AMI) with DMA to transfer 8 bit data from the SHARC to an external FIFO. The relevant control signals of the FIFO are:
nWR, active low write strobe, which I can connect to AMI_WR#
nTXE, active low FIFO empty flag
Data presented to the FIFO are written by taking nWR to '0', which is only legal while nTXE is low.
The explanation and diagrams on page 4-15 of the hardware reference gloss over the behaviour of AMI_ACK.
Please could someone provide clarification?
