what is the relation between the vdk kernel tab tick period, clock value with the project? and the actual core clock values?
VDK uses the Clock frequency and Timer period specified in the kernel tab to calculate which values to configure the core timer to (when required). The Core Timer is responsible for raising the Timer Interrupt at the correct interval to mark a VDK Tick. VDK will change the registers TPERIOD and TCOUNT on both SHARC and Blackfin and TSCALE on Blackfin.
ClockPeriod = ClockFrequency * TickPeriod
Note that VDK only uses the clock frequency setting to calculate internal timer parameters and will not actually change the CCLK configuration.
As I remember, Period ~ 1/Frequency, not Period ~ Frequency.
I was writing about the value that VDK will put in TPERIOD.
In the case of a partin which you set in the kernel tab
Clock Frequency (MHz): 600
Tick Period(ms): 0.05
VDK will set TPERIOD to
30000 = 600 * 1000 * 0.05
where the * 1000 is to pass the MHz to KHz.
