I am evaluating the ADV7619 as a device for measuring the timing parameters of HDMI 1.4a 4K x 2K timings. I've run some 4K x 2K compliance tests, and I am not getting valid measurements from the ADV7619. Is there something I need to do differently with the chip/register settings for 4K x 2K measurements to report accurately?
Here is what I am doing:
Test source: QuantumData 980 Analyzer, running 4K x 2K HDMI compliance test. This tests 4 4K x 2K timings (which appear to be 3840x2160 from some measurements I have seen from the ADV7619) at 23.98, 24, 25, and 30 Hz.
Each of these tests has failed, though 30 Hz has performed better than the others. At 23.98, 24, and 25 Hz I see the v and or h measurement filters (HDMI map, register 7) failing to lock. At 30 Hz I've seen the v and h filters also fail to lock, though I've seen them both lock also. In one case at 30 Hz all the measurements appeared to be as expected except the pixel clock was reported as 372 MHz (out of range). The pixel clock measurement has always been above 300 MHz, out of range.
I have tried this test both with and without the low vertical frequency workaround (set register 0x4c = 1 if h blank > h active) specified in the video forum at: http://ez.analog.com/thread/14429
