I'm aDFAE and of my customers is having trouble with the ADUM4160 USB isolation device.

They cannot get the PC to recognize a USB device isolated by the ADUM4160.

They have tried different setups:

1.  Full speed setup

     Vbus1 powered by USB connector.

     VDD1=3.3V generated internally by ADUM4160.

     SPD=SPU=PDEN=USB PIN="1"

     Vbus2=Vdd2=3.3V (generated on PCB).

     DD+ & DD- connected to USB port of a microcontroller.

2.   Low speed setuo

      Vbus1 powered by USB connector.

      VDD1=3.3V generated internally by ADUM4160.

      SPD=SPU="0"

      PDEN=USB PIN="1"

      Vbus2=Vdd2=3.3V (generated on PCB).

      DD+ & DD- connected to USB port of a microcontroller

In these 2 setups the result is the same, PC does not see a USB device..

They've checked signals on UD+ & UD- pins, both show only 0 volts.

They've checked this on 2 ADUM4160 devices.

What are we missing?

Thanks

Alon
