H.264 Encoding in uClinux

I need an H.264 encoder on a BF527. After some investigation, I found out that FFMPEG itself cannot encode (only decode) H.264, and I have tested libx264, which has no Blackfin optimizations and is way too slow for my application.

Now I have come across the "H.264 BP Encoder" from Analog Devices, which is delivered as a VisualDSP++ Library. Do you think it is feasible to try integrating and linking this library into uClinux?

Is there any work in progress that aims at optimizing libx264 for the Blackfin, as was done with FFMPEG?

Thanks, Harald
