I am trying to get the Windows device drivers for the AD9520/22 Evaluation Board. I installed the AD9522EvalSetup.exe but it did not include the drivers.
I need drivers for Win XP and Win 7 64.
I apologize for the inconvenience. The AD9520/22 software is 32-bit only at this point, although you can use a 32-bit Windows XP virtual machine under 64-bit Windows 7 to use the USB driver. I've done this on my PC and it works fine.
The issue with 64-bit support started with the 64-bit driver for Cypress USB chip that we use. They elected to only support software developed using Microsoft .NET framework. We have been developing with .NET for awhile now, and we have 64-bit support starting with the AD9557 and newer parts.
It remains to be seen how much work is involved in going back and updating the AD9520 software (which uses an older DLL approach).
Thank you Paul. I will try the Virtual PC but as a last resort I do have a 32-bit Windows installation on another PC.
You're welcome. 64-bit OS driver support has been a headache for us, and we're trying add support for it as quickly as resources allow.
I'm trying to connect AD9520/PSBZ (rev B), AD9520-3 to 64-bit window 7. I'm not sure if AD9520-3 and AD9520/22 are using the same software. Is there any new solution to this problem rather than install 32-bit window XP on virtual machine?
The AD9520/22 evaluation software and USB drivers have been updated to be 64-bit compatible. However, you will need to download new software, and update the USB controller flash memory that contains the identity of the eval board. The program and instructions are in a readme file in the link below
All of which can be downloaded here:
AD9520-3 Evaluation Board | Analog Devices
You need the first three links on the above page under "Software and Tools."
Thank you for your response. I'm still confused because when I install Evaluation Board USB Flash Programmer it tells me that "The EZ-USB Driver installation has failed because the driver is only compatible with 32-bit operating systems." I ignore the message and keep going, but I'm stuck on a step 7a in AD9520 Evaluation Board USB Flash Programmer Readme because I cannot find the file DriverGuide.mht in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\USB Eval Board Programmer"
I just notice that instead of showing that "No Boards Found" my USB Eval Board Programmer show "No Device Detected." I have checked that all the jumper are in the correct position.
It appears that we put the wrong software to update the USB EEPROM.
You can download the correct software here:
I will get the software on analog.com updated.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Oh, Okay, no problem. I'm super happy that I can run it now. Thank you! I'm glad that you respond me pretty quickly.
No problem. Glad it's working now.
