In ADV7842 is there a HDCP status for a port in background mode like HDMI_CONTENT_ENCRYPTED bit for active mode ?
BG_HDCP_ENC_FRAME 0xEB indicates that the data on the BG port is encrypted. Note this register is not documented in current user guides.
There is only one HDCP engine in the device and it is connected to the active port. The background port can be monitored for activity and resolution however when you switch to that port it take a bit of time (blank screen, mute audio) for the HDCP to renegotiate the keys for that port before you see the new video.
Thank you for your response but datasheet UG-214 says that HDCP authentication is still working on unselected HDMI ports :
UG-214 p190 : "Once a port is in background mode the ADV7842 establishes a HDCP link with its source even though it is not selected by HDMI_PORT_SELECT. This background authentication allows for fast switching of the HDMI ports."
Ok, I see what you're asking now, sorry didn't understand earlier. I don't know of any other register that does what you need. Let me ask someone else about it.
Thank you very much Guenter.
