I am trying to install ADV Register Control 4.13 J on Win7 64-bit. However, I am getting an error stating the module "VIDAnalogDevicesUSB.ocx" failed to load. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.
I believe this software requires Windows XP. Which evaluation board are you trying to use?
In order to use this software on a PC with Windows 7 OS (32-bit or 64-bit), I run Windows XP in a virtual machine.
I am using the ADV7441A. Will WinXP compatibility mode work or does it have to a WinXP VM?
I assume you are referring to the various compatibility modes listed under Properties for an application. I don't think any of these will allow the application to run, but you might prove me wrong.
Depending on the version of Windows 7 that you have, XP Mode (a fully licensed VM of Windows XP SP3) may be included. You would just need to download it from Microsoft.com. On my computers, I use the XP Mode along with the free VMware Player to create a Windows XP environment that is isolated from other software on my system.
Based on your other thread, I assume you have the Register Control Software running on a different computer. Is that correct?
I have a windows xp mode with service pack 3 already installed on my computer. I tried installing ADV Register Control 4.13J in the virtual machine and the following pictures attached are what occurs. The VIDAnalogDevicesUSB.oxc gets installed correctly but then the CMD prompt says the sytem can not find the specified path. I may be doing something wrong but I am not sure what.
I think you were able to use a newer version of ADV Register Control to work. Are you still needing to get version 4.13J to work in a VM?
No I do not. The new version works just fine. Thanks
