Can the ADV7619 be used to create a bridge to LVDS along the lines of
HDMI --> ADV7169 -- >> some translator chip -->> 8-ch 10-bit LVDS (3840x2160)
What would you suggest bewtween the ADV and panel?
There's 2 possible methods to implement the interface:
1) See if Sharp already has an ASIC that does it. Since Sharp designed the panel, they must have done an ASIC to drive it.
2) Develop an FPGA that splits the input stream into 4 regions and then pumps the data out in the right format for the display. This is not a simple or cheap solution but it can be done.
The ADV7619 just receives and decodes HDMI signals. The output is a simple digital stream. Any translator chip you find that accepts the digital inputs should be fine. I'm not really sure what you mean by 8-ch 10-bit LVDS. Is that a total of 80 LVDS signals? To make a suggestion I'd require more information about the interface to the panel.

The panel is split into 4 areas of 960(W)x2160(H) each with 2 x 10-bit LVDS channels, totalling 8 x 10-bit LVDS channels.
