My current project is to build a DAQ system (ADC+FIFO+DSP). We want to buy a high speed multi-channel ADC board (Such as 14bit, 125MSPS and 4 Channels). Is there some FIFO tools or kits to interface blackfin boards with the high speed ADC?
I am not aware if we have any kit that would suit your application. But receiving four 14-bit ADC channels at 125MSPS would be tricky with single peripheral of the Blackfin processor.
I don't think, a single serial peripheral such as SPORT or SPI can be used here. And the parallel peripheral such as PPI can operate at upto (System_clock / 2) rate.
So, you may have to use multiple PPI ports to acquire the ADC data and hence you may need a ADC board that provides data on multiple data bus.
Please check if someone from Data Converter community can able to help you find any Eval board that fulfills your requirements.
Hi, if you use blackfin to receive 125MSPS data realtime, I think it is difficult. for your application, if your adc work for a while, and stop, wait blackfin readout data in fifo. you can use one FPGA(E.X altera cyclone series, which have fifo IP already).
