AVES2 fragility

AVES2 starts with a message [Requesting default devices to load]. Probably one in three times next screen shows a blank page with [device1] and [Start Rep] buttons. A time consuming work around is to close AVES2(2.4.36), AVESServer 1.03, and cycle power to 7612-7511EVM(A0246-2010-rev0p1).

Do you have more effective solution?

Also a number of [SplashScreen] messages have occurred.

[unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Error reading from pipe. Internal error: 109]

AVES often starts with a blank screen with just one button for device 1. AVESServer transactions are:

NACK not found

ACK store DEV_0 AVES2 2.04.36

ACK NONE NONE

ACK opening USB

ACK USB USB

ACK write port STOPREP

ACK store REPEATER OFF

ACK AVESServer 1.03 -- Version

ACK write port XRC+

ACK SET TIMEOUT 25

READ PORT PARTS

ACK store DEV_0 EMPTY

Other times AVESServer indicates timeout and AVES screen does not appear at all.

resetAVES.exe was not useful so far.

AVES broke on a second PC (Win7) in a different way. When AVES persistently did not close it had to be shut down from windows task manager. This was on Win7, 64bit system. After that event AVES only ran in a minimised window. AVES and AVES server were reinstalled in the attempt to rectify this corruption but it still only comes up in a minimised window(ADI icon). Do you think .net framework needs to be reinstalled?
