Minimum Digital input in data register of AD5755 for Open circuit detection ?

Hi ,

All channels of  DAC AD5755BCPZ are   configured for 0 to 24 mA. with offset & gain register for all channels being 0x8000 and 0xFFFF respectively.

Minmum digital count  at which the status register  detects 'open circuit' is observed for all the channels and it is observed that the count is

different for different channels.

Please find the observations as  :-

Minimum digital count in data register for CH0 for which open circuit is detected is 0x0095

Minimum digital count in data register for CH1 for which open circuit is detected is 0x0189

Minimum digital count in data register for CH2 for which open circuit is detected is 0x0004

Minimum digital count in data register for CH3 for which open circuit is detected is 0x0C57

In the datasheet nothing is mentioned about the minimum Digital count for open circuit detection.

Ideally  for all channels open circuit must  be detected at 0x0001 for  ( 0-24ma range  or 0-20mA range )

Can you please check this behaviour and share your observation.

Regards !!

VAV
